Fundraising events
Become a stroke champion and help people affected by stroke by fundraising at an upcoming event, or set your own challenge!

Stroke is New Zealand’s second single biggest killer and a leading cause of serious adult disability. Over 9000 strokes are experienced in Aotearoa each year - that's 25 every day and more than one every hour. The mission of Stroke Aotearoa is to prevent strokes, improve outcomes and save lives. For over 40 years, we have dedicated ourselves to this important work.
Only 19% of our funding comes from the Government, so it’s a direct result of generous supporters like you that we're able to make an incredible difference to the lives of those affected by stroke, as well as the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders.
By fundraising for Stroke Aotearoa, you're supporting our vital Community Stroke Navigators, providing free pulse and blood pressure checks to the public, and training communities, health groups and health professionals on stroke. You’re also supporting our life-saving health promotion activity, including our free phone helpline for people affected by stroke, the F.A.S.T. message and advocating for improved services and care for stroke survivors.
There are lots of different ways that you can fundraise for us. You could:
- tackle a sporting activity
- host an event
- take on a challenge
- give something up
- or celebrate an occasion
Get as creative as you like! And then ask family, friends and work colleagues to support you and donate to a cause that’s important to you.
Thanks for your support. Together we can fight stroke!
