Joan's story

Joan Banks (WAKS montage)

Having a haemorrhagic stroke seven months ago has been the most significant health setback in my life. Although I feel very grateful to remain functional and have restored my fitness, it's taken a long road to get back to my normal self. Fatigue has been an overwhelming setback for me, and once it hits, I just have to rest. I never imagined life would be like this as I am a fit, healthy 65-year-old. I can see the progress I've made when I look back and am hopeful, I'll be back to my normal self within the year.
