Stroke Foundation Mission
‘Reducing risk - improving outcomes’
Our Vision is to:
> save lives
> improve outcomes
> enhance life after Stroke
Since it began in 1980, the Stroke Foundation has created a network of over 40 Field Officers and 70 Stroke Clubs throughout New Zealand.
This network provides information, understanding, care, support and rehabilitation for people with a stroke, their families and caregivers. We aim to help stroke survivors regain the best quality of life.
The Stroke Foundation promotes research into the causes of stroke, and improvements in stroke acute and rehabilitation services. We also work to improve stroke support in the community, as well as raising awareness of stroke symptoms and risks through stroke prevention information.
The Stroke Foundation is a non-profit organization and we rely on community support, donations and sponsorships to provide our services.
There are about 3,500 members throughout the country.
